AN EARTHQUAKE HAS BEEN FELT WEAKLY BY MANY PEOPLE ACROSS WESTERN
WYOMING SATURDAY AFTERNOON. NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED. FIRST
HAND REPORTS INDICATE THE QUAKE SHOOK TABLES AND CHAIRS AND LASTED
ABOUT 15 SECONDS. REPORTS HAVE BEEN CENTERED IN TETON AND
SUBLETTE COUNTIES...BUT ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM AS FAR
AWAY AS LANDER AND THERMOPOLIS.

THE NATIONAL EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION CENTER IN GOLDEN COLORADO
REPORTS THE EARTHQUAKE WAS A MAGNITUDE 4.8 ON THE RICHTER SCALE
AND OCCURRED ABOUT 248 PM MDT APPROXIMATELY 24 MILES EAST OF
HOBACK WYOMING. INFORMATION RELEASED IN THIS STATEMENT IS
