AN ATMOSPHERIC RIVER EVENT IS STILL FORECAST TO BRING SIGNIFICANT
RAINFALL AMOUNTS TO NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA. AT THIS TIME THE
HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS DEL NORTE...HUMBOLDT AND
NORTHERN MENDOCINO COUNTIES WITH LESSER AMOUNTS OVER SOUTHERN
MENDOCINO AND TRINITY COUNTIES. HOWEVER...LOCATION AND TIMING
ADJUSTMENTS ARE POSSIBLE PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

CURRENT FORECAST RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY:

DEL NORTE COUNTY...4 TO 8 INCHES...HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN THE
SOUTHEAST PORTION OF THE COUNTY.

NORTHERN HUMBOLDT COUNTY...3 TO 7 INCHES...HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN THE
NORTHEAST PORTION OF THE COUNTY.

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT COUNTY...2 TO 6 INCHES.

NORTHERN MENDOCINO COUNTIES...3 TO 5 INCHES.

SOUTHERN MENDOCINO COUNTY...1 TO 3 INCHES.

WESTERN TRINITY COUNTY...2 TO 4 INCHES.

EASTERN TRINITY COUNTY...1 TO 2 INCHES.

THE MAIN STEM RIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE RAPID AND SIGNIFICANT
RISES. AT THIS TIME THE MAIN STEM RIVERS ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN
BELOW FLOOD STAGE.

THE FOLLOWING MAIN STEM RIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO REACH OR EXCEED
MONITOR STAGE ON FRIDAY...KLAMATH RIVER NEAR KLAMATH...MAD RIVER
NEAR ARCATA...EEL RIVER AT FERNBRIDGE...AND VAN DUZEN RIVER NEAR
BRIDGEVILLE.

RAPID AND SIGNIFICANT RISES ARE ALSO EXPECTED ON THE SMALL
STREAMS AND TRIBUTARIES. SOME SMALL STREAMS ARE EXPECTED TO
EXCEED THEIR BANKS.

STANDING OR PONDING WATER IS EXPECTED IN LOW-LYING AREAS AND IN
AREAS WITH POOR DRAINAGE. ALSO...URBAN STREET FLOODING IS
EXPECTED WHERE THE STORM DRAINS ARE UNABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THE
RAINFALL OR ARE CLOGGED WITH LEAVES OR OTHER DEBRIS.
