.PERIODS OF RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TODAY
ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE AND THE EASTERN HALF OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED TODAY. STORM
TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WILL BE WIDESPREAD WITH
AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES POSSIBLE. WHILE THE RAIN WILL NOT
FALL AT EXTREME ENOUGH RATES TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING... THE
CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THIS MUCH RAIN OVER THE MULTI-DAY PERIOD WILL
BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE TO
BANKFULL.

* THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS AND
  TODAY WILL CAUSE RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE. FLOODING OF
  STREAMS AND RIVERS IS POSSIBLE. URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING
  IS EXPECTED. THE RAIN WILL TAPER OFF LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND
  EVENING.
