...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...

  North Platte River near Henry affecting Scotts Bluff County
  North Platte River near Mitchell affecting Scotts Bluff County
  North Platte River near Minatare affecting Scotts Bluff County

.Hydrologic Summary...

A breach along the river bank has occurred upstream of Riverside Park in
Scottsbluff. Local flooding is occurring in Riverside park...Riverside
zoo...and Riverside campground.

Upstream reservior releases will keep the North Platte River in the
western Nebraska Panhandle high through this week. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms are expected each day this week which may add additional
short notice rises to the river.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded areas. Move to higher ground. The water
may be deep enough to float you and your vehicle. Turn around, don`t
drown.

The next statement will be issued Wednesday morning.

* Flood Warning continues for
  The North Platte River near Henry.
* For the North Platte River near Henry, Minor flooding is occurring,
  with a stage of 6.3 feet measured at 7 PM Tuesday.
* The river will stay constant over the next few days then rise above moderate
  flood stage of 6.5 feet around Friday evening.
* Impact...at 6.5 feet...Lowland flooding intensifies.  Homes along the North
  Platte River will be totally inundated with basement and overland flooding.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 6.6 feet
  on Jul 23 1983.

* Flood Warning continues for
  The North Platte River near Mitchell.
* For the North Platte River near Mitchell, Moderate flooding is
  occurring, with a stage of 8.8 feet measured at 7 PM Tuesday.
* Moderate flooding is forecasted, with a maximum stage of 9.4 feet,
  which is 1.9 feet above flood stage.
* The river will remain near 8.8 feet over the next few days...then rise to
  around 9.4 feet by Friday evening.
* Impact...at 9.5 feet...Major flooding occurs across southern
  portions of Scottsbluff. Major flooding of homes and agricultural
  land occurs near the river. Flood wave travel time from Mitchell to
  Scottsbluff is about 10 to 12 hours.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.3 feet
  on Jun 2 1971.

* Flood Warning continues for
  The North Platte River near Minatare.
* The latest stage is 7.4 feet at 7 PM Tuesday.
* Minor flooding is forecasted, with a maximum stage of 7.7 feet,
  which is 0.2 feet above flood stage.
* The river will remain near 7.4 feet over the next few days...then rise to
  around 7.7 feet by Saturday afternoon.
* Impact...at 7.5 feet...Flood stage.  Low lying agricultural land near the
  river begins to flood.  Homes along the North Platte River will have water in
  their basements.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.0 feet
  on May 27 1973.
