The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Southeastern Caldwell County in western North Carolina...

* Until 600 AM EDT

* At 300 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  heavy rain accumulating in southeastern Caldwell County. Due to
  saturated soils causing excessive runoff, this will cause small
  stream flooding in the advisory area. Freemason Creek, Gunpowder
  Creek, and Stafford Creek will be most affected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Sawmills, Granite Falls, Hudson, and the southeastern portion of
  Lenoir.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Heavy rainfall will cause rapid rises on small creeks and streams,
possibly flooding low water crossings and farmland. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Turn around, dont drown.

Please report flood water flowing over roads or threatening property,
or landslides to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, or by posting on our Facebook page, or Tweet
it using hashtag nwsgsp. your message should describe the event and
the specific location where it occurred.
