THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  LAMAR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA...

* UNTIL 930 PM CST MONDAY

* AT 920 AM CST...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTED FLOODING OF SOME
RIVERS AND STREAMS IN PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY FOLLOWING HEAVY
RAINFALL THAT OCCURRED DURING THE PAST 24 HOURS.  THE BUTTAHATCHEE
RIVER WAS REPORTED TO BE COMING OUT OF ITS BANKS ON HIGHWAY 17 NORTH
OF SUMITON.  FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS ACROSS THE COUNTY
IS POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING FLOODING SITUATION. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS. STAY HOME UNLESS YOU ARE
FORCED TO EVACUATE TO HIGHER GROUND.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF
RIVERS...CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND
ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
