FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
453 AM CST FRI JAN 30 2015

.DISCUSSION...
DRY AND COOLER WEATHER WILL PERSIST FOR THE MOST PART TODAY WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF SOME DRIZZLE OVER NORTHEAST ALABAMA EARLY THIS MORNING.
MEANWHILE, NORTHERLY WINDS OF 7-10 MPH AND MIXING HEIGHTS NEAR 3000
FEET WILL TRANSLATE TO DISPERSION OF GENERALLY GOOD.

THEN, A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES EAST ACROSS THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY
BRINGING DRY AND SEASONABLY WARM CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY. THE MAIN
CONCERN IS THAT MININUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES MAY DROP CLOSE TO
25% FOR 2-4 HOURS DURING SATURDAY AFTERNOON, ESPECIALLY OVER
NORTHEAST ALABAMA. DESPITE THE POSSIBILITY OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS, WITH LIGHT WINDS, DISPERSION IS EXPECTED TO BE POOR ON
SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL IS THEN EXPECTED DURING THE
DAY ON SUNDAY AS A STRONG COLD FRONT APPROACHES. RAINFALL MAY
ACTUALLY CHANGE TO SLEET OR SNOW DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS ON SUNDAY
NIGHT.

DRY WEATHER RETURNS ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY WITH THE NEXT CHANCE FOR
RAIN ON WEDNESDAY ON THURSDAY.
