Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
247 PM PDT Thu Aug 17 2017

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Weak to moderate onshore flow will
continue near normal temperatures, along with a fairly stable and
moist air mass. Terrain-driven winds will give way to west or
northwest winds each afternoon and evening. Another deep marine
push is expected again on Saturday before drier conditions prevail
into next week.

.DISCUSSION...Weak to moderate onshore flow will continue for most
of the Pacific Northwest through the next 7 days. This will lead
to seasonable temperatures and relatively moist conditions. During
the afternoon and evenings, isolated gusty conditions are
expected in coast range gaps and the Columbia River Gorge as
onshore flow strengthens. A weak cold front will move through the
area Friday night into Saturday. This should deepen the marine
layer and may even lead to some drizzle Saturday morning. Warmer
weather is expected by early next week as upper level ridging
returns to the Pacific NW. Thunderstorms are possible along the
Cascade crests each of the afternoons Tuesday through Thursday,
but details still remain uncertain at this time. /Bentley
