Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
820 AM PDT Wed May 24 2017

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Onshore flow continues today as a marine
air mass deepens. The marine air will bring cooler temperatures
with a chance for some light showers over the northern areas
today into Thursday. Onshore flow weakens late in the week, with a
ridge of high pressure aloft rebuilding Friday and continuing
through Sunday.

.DISCUSSION...Onshore flow continues today with a deepening marine
air mass. Cooler temperatures will be accompanied by gusty winds
again particularly in and near the Gorge from Cascade Locks
eastward. There is a slight chance for drizzle or light showers
in the northern parts of the forecast area into Thursday. An
upper level trough of low pressure over the interior of Washington
and Oregon Thursday will bring a slight chance for afternoon and
evening thunderstorms to the Cascade crest. A low level onshore
flow pattern continues later in the week and through the weekend,
but weakens considerably. A ridge of high pressure aloft will
rebuild over the region Friday and remain through Sunday,
resulting in warming temperatures Thursday through Sunday.
