Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
900 AM PDT Mon Apr 24 2017

...UNSETTLED PATTERN NEXT FEW DAYS...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...An upper level low will move across the
area today resulting in widespread wetting rain. Another frontal
system impacts the region Tuesday. The unsettled pattern then
continues through at least Friday. There may be a dry day Saturday,
but yet another weak front is expected to move through the forecast
area Saturday night and Sunday morning.

.DISCUSSION...An upper level low just off the North Oregon and
South Washington coast this morning will track southeast during the
day. Expect widespread wetting rain across the region today, with
several inches of snow at and above the Cascade passes. There looks
to be a short-lived break tonight, but models show another system
traversing the forecast area Tuesday. A very strong jet stream for
late April will remain directed at Oregon through Friday, which will
maintain the cool and unsettled pattern. It appears Saturday may be
dry, but longer range models show another weak front moving across
the district Saturday night and Sunday morning.
