FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
1241 PM EST SAT FEB 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...
ALTHOUGH A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM SYSTEM WILL BE OVER THE REGION
TODAY...SOME CLOUDS CAN BE EXPECTED.

A WARM FRONT WILL THEN PUSH NORTHWARD...PROVIDING SOME PRECIPITATION
LATE TONIGHT. THE BEST CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION WILL BE OVER OHIO
AND NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA...WHERE SOME LIGHT SNOW IS POSSIBLE.

SNOW WILL STILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST OHIO AND
THE WEST VIRGINIA NORTHEAST MOUNTAINS SUNDAY. THE WARM FRONT WILL
SAG SOUTHEAST AS A COLD FRONT LATE SUNDAY...WITH BETTER CHANCES FOR
PRECIPITATION CHANGING TO A MIX OR ALL SNOW LATER SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY
NIGHT. ALL SNOW SHOWERS WILL EXIT THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS MONDAY.

ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA MID WEEK. PRECIPITATION MAY
INITIALLY START OUT AS A WINTRY MIX ON TUESDAY...BEFORE QUICKLY
TRANSITIONING TO RAIN. THE HEAVIEST RAIN LOOKS TO OCCUR ACROSS PARTS
OF THE WEST VIRGINIA LOWLANDS...NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...AND SOUTHEAST
OHIO WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. AREA CREEKS...ALONG WITH MAIN
STEM RIVERS...WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED DURING THIS PERIOD FOR
POTENTIAL FLOODING ISSUES.

A COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY...CHANGING ANY
LINGERING PRECIPITATION TO SNOW. COLDER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK.
