Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
339 PM CST Sat Nov 18 2017

.DISCUSSION...
A strong cold front will continue to usher in a much cooler and
drier air mass into the region this evening, with isolated
showers noted along the front over the southern and eastern
sections of Northcentral Louisiana this afternoon expected to
depart the region by dusk. Gusty northwest winds will gradually
begin to diminish this evening as well, although gusts to 30 mph
will remain possible through mid-evening over East Texas and North
Louisiana along/south of I-20. Near to slightly below normal
temperatures are expected Sunday through Tuesday, with min RH`s
falling to around 30% both Sunday and Monday. 20 ft winds will also
be much lighter Sunday as well, remaining northerly around 10 mph
before becoming south southeast Monday as surface high pressure
begins to shift east of the region. Another cold front will move
through the region late Tuesday, reinforcing a much cooler and
drier air mass southward. A gradual warming trend will commence
through the remainder of the holiday week as temperatures return
back to near normal by Friday, but unfortunately, little if any
rainfall is expected through all of next week.
