.DISCUSSION...A decent surface and upper level cold front will
move through southern Utah this afternoon creating gusty south-
southwest winds. Minimal if any precipitation is expected with
the front through Sunday evening. A short break during the morning
and early afternoon Monday before another wave moves through,
bringing again another period for gusty west- southwest winds
especially at ridgetop and higher exposed terrain. The better
timing for chance of precipitation comes late Monday afternoon
into evening hours when the wind shifts to the northwest. Snow
levels will quickly drop overnight Monday into Tuesday, and into
Tuesday the potential for snow showers above 7500 feet will be
present through Tuesday afternoon. Winds Tuesday will trend to
less gusty and shift to the northwest. Clearing index values are
well above 500 with deep layer mixing aloft. A chance for late
afternoon and evening thunderstorms is present on Monday and
Tuesday, as well as a threat for lightning.
