...GALES EXPECTED SOUTH OF CAPE BLANCO THIS WEEKEND THROUGH MUCH
OF NEXT WEEK...

.HIGH PRESSURE WILL STRENGTHEN OFFSHORE THIS WEEKEND...THEN
REMAIN STRONG MUCH OF NEXT WEEK WHILE A THERMAL TROUGH WILL
PERSIST OVER NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THIS WILL RESULT IN AN EXTENDED
PERIOD OF STRONG NORTH WINDS AND STEEP...HAZARDOUS SEAS OVER THE
COASTAL WATERS. WINDS WILL BE STRONGEST AND SEAS WILL BE STEEPEST
DURING THE AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS BEYOND 10 NM FROM SHORE SOUTH
OF CAPE BLANCO.

...GALE WATCH IS UPGRADED...

* WINDS...NORTH TO NORTHWEST AT 15 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO AROUND
  30 KT THIS MORNING. WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 25 TO 35 KT THIS
  AFTERNOON THEN PERSIST THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* SEAS...STEEP AT 6 TO 9 FEET THIS MORNING. SEAS WILL BECOME
  HAZARDOUS AT 8 TO 12 FEET THIS AFTERNOON THEN REMAIN VERY STEEP
  THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* AREAS AFFECTED...WINDS THIS MORNING WILL BE STRONGEST SOUTH OF
  PORT ORFORD FROM 10 TO 40 NM FROM SHORE BUT SEAS WILL BE STEEP
  SOUTH OF CAPE BLANCO FROM 5 TO 60 NM FROM SHORE. WINDS WILL
  INCREASE TO GALE FORCE THIS AFTERNOON SOUTH OF PORT ORFORD
  BEYOND 10 NM FROM SHORE. WINDS WILL PEAK DURING THE AFTERNOONS
  AND EVENINGS AND MAY DIP BELOW GALE FORCE DURING THE LATE NIGHT
  AND EARLY MORNING HOURS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ALONG WITH VERY
STEEP AND HAZARDOUS SEAS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. OPERATING A
VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY
EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT
THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE
CONDITIONS.

  CONTINUING THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SEAS MAY OCCASIONALLY
  APPROACH 10 FT AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

* AREAS AFFECTED...WINDS AND SEAS THIS MORNING WILL BE STRONGEST
  SOUTH OF PORT ORFORD BEYOND 3 NM FROM SHORE. WINDS WILL INCREASE
  THIS AFTERNOON AND EXPECT SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS ACROSS
  THE AREA...WITH CONTINUED GUSTY NORTH WINDS AND STEEP SEAS
  THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WINDS MAY OCCASIONALLY APPROACH GALE
  FORCE WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS DURING THE AFTERNOONS AND
  EVENINGS.
