...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT
SUNDAY...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...110 to 115 degrees expected again Sunday
afternoon. Lows tonight 77 to 80 degrees.

* TIMING... Temperatures will be slow to fall this evening with
lows tonight only reaching the upper 70s to near 80. Heat index
values will return into the 110 to 115 degrees for a couple of
  hours Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure. With long duration of
heat and humidity and with temperatures not cooling below 80
at night, this is a potentially very dangerous heat event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of
minutes. Bring pets indoors if possible, even if for just short
periods of time; and ensure they have access to drinking water,
which can evaporate from dishes very quickly in extreme heat.

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. the combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors. Fans are essential for those
without air conditioning.
