A cold front will bear down on Southern New England from the north this
afternoon as high pressure builds south from Quebec. This front could
trigger widely scattered late afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Rainfall totals in any showers will be under a quarter of an inch.
Behind the front, dry, cooler and less humid weather will follow on
Friday. Dry and seasonable weather will follow on Saturday.

Area main stem river levels will remain nearly stationary through
Saturday.


These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending
at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow.
