ON SATURDAY MORNING...HIGH PRESSURE WAS OVER THE OHIO VALLEY AND
LOW PRESSURE WAS DEVELOPING OVER THE SOUTHERN ROCKY MOUNTAINS.
SKY CONDITIONS WERE VARIABLE ACROSS THE REGION...WITH TEMPERATURES
AS OF 7 AM RANGING FROM THE UPPER TEENS IN THE TYPICAL COLD SPOTS
IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS TO THE 20S FOR THE REST OF THE AREA.
HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM THE MID TO UPPER 30S.

AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LIFTS NORTHEAST INTO KANSAS AND THEN
MISSOURI LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING...PRECIPITATION
WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION...POSSIBLY IN THE FORM OF RAIN
INITIALLY AND THEN RAIN OR SNOW THIS EVENING. LINGERING RAIN SNOW
MIX WILL TRANSITION SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 THIS EVENING WILL
TRANSITION TO ALL SNOW. PERIODS OF GENERALLY MODERATE SNOW WILL
CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY EVENING BEFORE TAPERING OFF...WITH
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES LIKELY. LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN...WHERE LAKE
ENHANCEMENT SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY COULD ADD TO TOTALS A
BIT. NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE AND GUST TO 30 TO 35 MPH ON
SUNDAY...WHICH COULD RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN OPEN
AREAS. HIGH TEMPERATURES ON SUNDAY WILL BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AND UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80.

LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE NEAR THE LAKE MAINLY MONDAY
MORNING...WITH THE REST OF THE AREA DRY BUT COLD. HIGHS WILL ONLY
BE IN THE MID TO UPPER TEENS. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR SNOW WILL ARRIVE
MONDAY NIGHT.
