DIAMOND LAKE...UNION CREEK...HOWARD PRAIRIE...SISKIYOU SUMMIT

.HEAVY RAIN...STRONG WINDS...THEN SNOW TO AFFECT AFFECT MOUNTAINS
TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

THOSE PLANNING TO TRAVEL INTO THE MOUNTAINS FRIDAY AND INTO THE
WEEKEND CAN EXPECT MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG
WINDS...FOLLOWED BY SHARPLY DROPPING SNOW LEVELS EARLY SATURDAY
MORNING WITH ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL. PLEASE PREPARE FOR THESE
CONDITIONS NOW.

A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA AND SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL
INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON...PEAKING THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT...WITH WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE IN EXPOSED AREAS.

SNOWFALL WILL NOT HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS AT THE ONSET OF THIS
STORM. SNOW LEVELS WILL RISE TO 8000 FEET TONIGHT...DURING THE
PERIOD OF HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION. THEN...AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES
THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...SNOW LEVELS WILL BEGIN TO LOWER. SNOW
LEVELS WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 4000 AND 5000 FEET SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
SNOW TOTALS SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY NIGHT SHOULD GENERALLY BE 7 TO
10 INCHES AT CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK...4 TO 7 INCHES AT DIAMOND
LAKE JUNCTION...3 TO 5 INCHES AT HIGHWAY 140 NEAR LAKE OF THE
WOODS...AND A FEW INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG INTERSTATE 5 AT
SISKIYOU SUMMIT.
