...Quick shot of heavy snow showers this morning...

A cold front is pushing a moderate band of snow showers into the
the Sierra and far northeast California this morning. Snow will
quickly accumulate on roadways under the heavy precipitation. 2-6
inches of snow may accumulate on Sierra passes this morning with 1
to 3 inches possible down to 5500 feet around Lake Tahoe. In
northeast California 1-3 inches of snow could accumulate as low as
4500 feet this morning.

By late morning snow showers will become less frequent with
isolated thunderstorms and breaks of sunshine by the afternoon.
Temperatures will be warm enough that snow on roadways should melt
quickly once heavy snow showers cease.
