This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

We could briefly see near critical fire danger conditions this
afternoon across mainly portions of south central Nebraska.
Winds are expected to gust around or just over 20 mph with
relative humidity values bottoming out between 20 and 25 percent.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

A strong upper level storm system will move through our region
late Monday and Tuesday, bringing several weather concerns.

First, the entire outlook area is under a Slight Risk for severe
thunderstorms Monday evening through Monday night. Although a few
storms cannot be ruled out late in the afternoon, the vast
majority of activity will likely hold off until later in the
evening and into the early morning hours Tuesday. The primary
severe weather threats will be large hail and damaging winds, but
a tornado threat cannot be totally ruled out. Thunderstorm chances
will linger into Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, but by this
time the main threat for severe storms should be shifted east of
our area.

In addition to the thunderstorm threat, strong winds of at least
30 MPH with gusts of at least 45 MPH are likely area-wide Monday
and Tuesday. Winds will initially be out of the south-southeast
Monday afternoon into Monday night, and then shift to out of the
northwest Tuesday.

As one more weather hazard for Monday afternoon, near critical to
perhaps critical fire danger is possible, mainly along and west
of a line from Lexington Nebraska to Stockton Kansas, where
relative humidity is most favored to drop to 25 percent or lower
in the presence of strong winds.

Looking beyond the primary concerns on Monday and Tuesday, there
is also a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night.
