...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM CDT
FOR NORTHWESTERN MITCHELL...SOUTHWESTERN JEWELL...SOUTHEASTERN SMITH
AND NORTHEASTERN OSBORNE COUNTIES...

At 823 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Harlan to near Osborne, moving northeast at 30
mph.

HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 816 PM, quarter size hail was
         reported 3 miles southwest of Portis.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
         damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

These severe storms will be near...
  Downs around 830 PM CDT.
  Cawker City around 835 PM CDT.
  Glen Elder and Ionia around 855 PM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for north central
Kansas.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

These storms are producing large hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a
sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
