Issued at 301 PM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024 The closed upper low that brought meaningful rainfall to portions of the area yesterday continues to lift to the northeast, into portions of central Nebraska. Visible satellite imagery shows the low centered over central and western Nebraska, and some clearing skies across eastern Colorado. The low is expected to continue to lift to the north/northeast overnight with clearing skies. There will be a brief period of a few hours Monday morning where some patchy frost may develop. Monday and Tuesday, weak ridging, followed by zonal flow brings warmer temperatures and sunny skies to the area. High temperatures Monday will be in the 70s. A few 80s cannot be ruled out on Tuesday. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/... Issued at 301 PM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024 Wednesday, a trough will begin to move into the area, shifting flow to the southwest across the Tri-State area. Wednesday brings our next chance of a few showers and thunderstorms, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours. Although storms are not currently outlooked to become severe, still keep an eye on this event. Thursday and Friday, the trough moves further east into the region. Expect cooler temperatures with highs in the 60s. There will be a 20-30% chance of a few showers moving through the region as this system moves through. There is still some uncertainty in the models over where the trough will track and the expected timing. Zonal flow sets up again over the area heading into the weekend, with warmer temperatures expected. && .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/... Ceiling will continue to gradually raise through the day as the upper level trough moves further from the forecast area. The gusty winds will lighten by mid afternoon.
