  Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond affecting Allegan County

...The flood advisory continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Pere Marquette River Near Scottville affecting Mason County

.Some river gauges will be impacted by ice, but overall, improvement
continues on most streams and rivers. Ice will continue to build over
the next couple of days as temperatures stay near or below freezing.
Flooding concerns are likely to increase again toward the end of the
week with temperatures warming into the 40s. After a quiet second
half to the work week, precipitation chances begin to creep up
through the day Saturday. The following forecast is based on observed
and forecast 48 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning.  Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

  the Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond.
* at 10 AM Tuesday the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river is forecast to continue to fall.
* Impact, at 15.0 feet...River is bankfull and begins to spill over
  into large swampy areas along the river. Boardwalk along the river
  would become flooded.

* Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
* Forecast, the river is forecast to fall.
* Impact, at 4.0 feet...River is bankfull. Overflow of low lying
  areas adjacent to the river occurs.
