...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan...

  Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County

.Heavy rain has caused rapid rises on the Looking Glass River. It is
rising above flood stage. The following forecast is based on observed
and forecast 24 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock
you off your feet... and a depth of 2 feet will float your car.
Never try to walk... swim... or drive through such swift water.  If
you come upon flood waters... stop... turn around and go another way.


This warning will be in effect until the river falls below its flood
stage.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  the Looking Glass River Near Eagle.
* until Friday morning.
* At  1:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 7.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will continue rising to near 8.1 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday before
  midnight.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding of homes in Dewitt and
  along the Looking Glass River between Dewitt and Eagle. River
  levels flood warming hut, playground, pavilion, and ball field in
  Looking Glass Valley Park in Wacousta
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.2 feet
  on May 24 2004.
