...THUNDERSTORMS OVER LAKE MICHIGAN...

The areas affected include...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Manistee MI...

At 834 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 12 nm west of Ludington Light to
40 nm west of the St. Joseph Light, moving northeast at 35 knots.

These thunderstorms will be capable of both winds to around 30 knots
over the next 1 to 2 hours as well as cloud to water lightning
strikes. Boaters between St. Joseph and Manistee should be alert to
changing conditions and seek safe harbor if threatening weather
approaches.

Locations impacted include...
South Haven Light, Saugatuck Pier Heads, St. Joseph Light, White Lake
Pier Heads, The White Lake Pierheads, Little Sable Point Light, Grand
Haven Light, Muskegon Light, and St. Joseph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
as these storms approach.
