...LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

THE AREAS AFFECTED INCLUDE...
  NEARSHORE AND OPEN WATERS FROM WHITEHALL TO MANISTEE MI...

AT 402 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WINDS OVER 40 KNOTS. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM SLEEPING BEAR POINT IN MICHIGAN TO NEAR
THE KEWAUNEE PIERHEAD LIGHT IN WISCONSIN. THIS LINE OF
STORMS WAS MOVING SOUTH AT 35 KNOTS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
THE LUDINGTON LIGHT...LITTLE SABLE POINT...THE PENTWATER PIERHEADS
AND BIG SABLE POINT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THESE STORMS WILL REACH THE MANISTEE AREA AROUND 500 PM. THEY WILL
BE CAPABLE OF FREQUENT GUSTS ABOVE 40 KNOTS ALONG WITH FREQUENT
DEADLY LIGHTNING. THEREFORE A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING MAY BE REQUIRED
AS THESE STORMS GET CLOSER. BOATERS SHOULD CONSIDER HEADING FOR
SHORE BEFORE THESE STORMS ARRIVE.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM EDT FOR
WEST CENTRAL MICHIGAN AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE MICHIGAN.
