THE DEEP SNOW PACK AT GRAND RAPIDS SET A NUMBER OF RECORDS FOR
FEBRUARY.

THE AVERAGE SNOW DEPTH FOR THE MONTH WAS 20 INCHES WHICH BROKE THE
RECORD FOR GREATEST MONTHLY AVERAGE SNOW DEPTH...WHICH WAS 17.8
INCHES SET IN JANUARY 1979.

THE SNOW DEPTH OF 24 INCHES ON FEBRUARY 18TH BROKE THE RECORD FOR
GREATEST SNOW DEPTH ON ANY DAY IN FEBRUARY WHICH WAS 23 INCHES FIRST
SET IN FEBRUARY 1936. THE 24 INCHES TIED WITH JANUARY 28 1978 FOR
SECOND PLACE ALL TIME. THE GREATEST SNOW DEPTH ON RECORD AT GRAND
RAPIDS IS 27 INCHES SET ON JANUARY 27 1978...JUST AFTER THE BLIZZARD.

THERE WERE 16 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF 20 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW ON
THE GROUND AT GRAND RAPIDS...FROM FEBRUARY 5TH TO THE 20TH. THIS
BROKE THE RECORD OF NINE CONSECUTIVE DAYS SET FROM FEBRUARY 13TH TO
THE 21ST 1936 AND FROM JANUARY 14TH TO THE 22ND IN 1979.
