HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
901 PM EDT TUE MAR 29 2016

...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Looking Glass River at Eagle...Pere
Marquette River at Scottville...Muskegon River at Croton...Chippewa
River at Mt Pleasant...
..Dry weather will meet an abrubt as an approaching storm system
brings showers and thunderstorms to much of Southwest Lower Michigan
Wednesday night into Thursday. Some storms may include heavy rain,
resulting in additional river rises later this week. Much cooler
weather moves in next week with a couple more rounds of precipitation
possible. Some of the precipitation may even be in the form of snow.
The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 24
hour precipitation.

For the Looking Glass River Near Eagle... the latest stage was 4.8
feet at 8 PM Tuesday.   No flooding is forecast.  The river has
fallen M feet in the past 24 hours.  Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

For the Pere Marquette River Near Scottville... the latest stage was
3.9 feet at 8 PM Tuesday.   No flooding is forecast.  The river has
fallen M feet in the past 24 hours.  Flood stage is 5.5 feet.  At 4.0
feet... River is bankfull. Overflow of low lying areas adjacent to
the river occurs..

For the Muskegon River Near Croton... the latest stage was 7.8 feet
at 8 PM Tuesday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage
forecasted is 8.0 feet Thursday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 9.0
feet.  At 8.0 feet... River is bankfull. River begins to exceed its
banks and minor flooding begins in low lying areas along the river..


For the Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant... the latest stage was 6.0
feet at 8 PM Tuesday.   No flooding is forecast.  The river has
fallen M feet in the past 24 hours.  Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
