...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks: Grand River at Eaton Rapids...
.A stripe of heavy rain fell over far southern portions of Lower
Michigan, which included locations in Jackson County. Rainfall
totals of 1-2 inches were observed, leading to rapidly rising river
levels over southern Lower Michigan. Elsewhere, much lower totals
were received. More gradual river rises will occur. River flooding
is only expected to be minor, mainly focused along immediate river
banks and having little impact. The following forecast is based on
observed and forecast 48 hour precipitation.
For the Grand River At Eaton Rapids... the latest stage was 3.2 feet
at 8 AM Monday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 5.0 feet early Thursday morning. Flood stage is 6.0
feet. At 5.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor overflow into
low lying areas..
For the Grand River At Lowell... no observed stage was available. No
flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecasted is 10.0 feet
Saturday morning. Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
