HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
1036 AM EST FRI JAN 8 2016

.Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks: Grand River at Ionia...Sycamore
Creek at Holt...Looking Glass River at Eagle...Maple River at Maple
Rapids...
.Current weather conditions are being influenced by a storm system
that is tracking northeast through Missouri and Illinois. This system
will be responsible for increasing chances for rainfall today into
Saturday.

Much cooler air is poised to move in by late Saturday and
will allow precipitation to transition to snowfall Saturday night
into Sunday. There is little in the way of remaining snow depth for
the affected locations, but what does exist is denser than typical
snowpack. Remaining snowmelt and forecast rainfall are the two big
questions going into Sunday. Runoff is expected to slow or even
completely end as sub-freezing temperatures invade Lower Michigan.
Forecasts will be highly dependent on realized QPF and storm
behavior through the weekend.
