...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Jackson...Eaton
Rapids...Lowell...Ada...Grand Rapids...Robinson Township...Red Cedar
at Williamston...East Lansing...Flat River at Smyrna...Thornapple
River at Hastings...Caledonia...Rogue River at Rockford...Kalamazoo

.NOTE: River forecasts are based on a 48 hour precipitation
forecast valid through Monday morning. Widespread rain moves into the
region late Saturday and river rises will occur as we move through the
weekend. River rises are currently based on an expected 2"-3" of
precipitation over much of the area. However, rainfall amounts over
river basins could vary considerably if the focus for heavy precipitation
shifts position slightly.  A possibility exists for higher rainfall totals
across a narrow region which may impact these crests. Stay tuned to
the latest forecast updates as we approach this rainfall event.


For the Grand River At Jackson... the latest stage was 11.1 feet at
11 AM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 12.8 feet early
Monday morning.  Flood stage is 14.0 feet.  At 13.0 feet... River
is bankfull. River begins to flow into low lying areas..

For the Grand River At Eaton Rapids... the latest stage was 3.7 feet
at 8 AM Friday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 5.0 feet Tuesday
early afternoon.  Flood stage is 6.0 feet.  At 5.0 feet... River
is bankfull. Expect minor overflow into low lying areas..

For the Grand River At Lowell... the latest stage was 7.5 feet at 8
AM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 13.8 feet early
Thursday morning.  Flood stage is 15.0 feet.  At 15.0 feet...
Expect minor flooding of commercial buildings..

For the Grand River At Ada... the latest stage was 11.2 feet at 11 AM
Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 18.2 feet Thursday morning.
Flood stage is 20.0 feet.  At 17.0 feet... River is bankfull. Shady Drive
floods..

For the Grand River At Grand Rapids... the latest stage was 7.4 feet
at 12 PM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 15.9 feet Thursday
early afternoon.  Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

For the Grand River At Robinson Township... the latest stage was 10.9
feet at 10 AM Saturday.   At 13.3 feet... Minor flooding begins in
low areas..

For the Muskegon River At Evart... the latest stage was 9.0 feet at
11 AM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 11.8 feet Wednesday
evening.  Flood stage is 12.0 feet. At 12.0 feet... Expect
significant flooding in the area of M66 and 9 mile, impacting homes
in the Jefferies, Doc and Tom, and Wildlife Shores subdivisions.
Minor flooding of homes in low lying areas along Timberlane Drive,
and River Road between 80th Avenue and M66 also occurs. High water
levels also begin to impact the Evart Water Treatment Plant..

For the Muskegon River Near Croton... the latest stage was 6.5 feet
at 11 AM Saturday.   At 9.5 feet... Flood water begins surrounding
cottages and homes downstream from the City of Newaygo in the areas
of Leisure Land subdivision in Bridgeton Township and Sycamore Flats
in Ashland Township impacting 17 properties..

For the Red Cedar River Above Williamston... the latest stage was 5.2
feet at 11 AM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 7.0 feet
early Wednesday morning.  Flood stage is 9.0 feet.  At 7.0 feet...
River is bankfull. Overflow begins in low lying areas adjacent to the
river..

For the Red Cedar River At East Lansing... the latest stage was 4.2
feet at 11 AM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 6.3 feet
Wednesday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 7.0 feet.  At 6.0 feet...
River reaches bankfull and low lying areas flood..

For the Flat River Near Smyrna... the latest stage was 4.5 feet at 11
AM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 7.2 feet Thursday early
afternoon.  Flood stage is 8.5 feet.  At 7.0 feet... Expect minor
flooding of about 30 Double R Ranch Campground sites and in low
lying areas adjacent to the river..

For the Thornapple River Above Hastings... the latest stage was 4.1
feet at 12 PM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 6.9 feet
Wednesday evening.  Flood stage is 7.0 feet. At 7.0 feet...
Expect minor flooding of Tyden Park in Hastings, and homes
upstream and downstream of Hastings..

For the Thornapple River Near Caledonia... the latest stage was 4.9
feet at 11 AM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 8.8 feet
Wednesday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 10.0 feet. At 8.0 feet...
River is bankfull. Expect overflow into low lying areas along the river..

For the Rogue River Below Rockford... the latest stage was 4.7 feet
at 12 PM Saturday.  The maximum stage forecasted is 7.9 feet early
Tuesday morning.  Flood stage is 8.0 feet.  At 8.0 feet... Expect
minor flooding of homes upstream of Rockford..

For the Kalamazoo River At Comstock... the latest stage was 5.1 feet
at 11 AM Saturday.   The maximum stage forecasted is 7.2 feet early
Thursday morning.  Flood stage is 9.0 feet.  At 7.0 feet... River is
bankfull..

For the Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond... the latest stage was
12.9 feet at 12 PM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 16.0
feet Wednesday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 17.0 feet.  At 17.0
feet... Expect minor flooding of low lying areas and farmland along
the river.  Boardwalk along the river and boat launch would be flooded..

For the Pere Marquette River Near Scottville... the latest stage was
2.3 feet at 12 PM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 4.8 feet
Wednesday evening.  Flood stage is 5.5 feet.  At 5.0 feet... Expect
high water to begin covering Campground Road adjacent to river in
Scottville Park..

For the White River Above Whitehall... the latest stage was 2.4 feet
at 11 AM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 5.9 feet Tuesday
evening.  Flood stage is 6.0 feet.  At 6.0 feet... Expect minor
flooding of several cottages, canoe liveries, and farmland along the
river..

For the Little Muskegon River Above Morley... no observed stage was
available.  The maximum stage forecasted is 5.0 feet Monday evening.
Flood stage is 6.0 feet.  At 6.0 feet... Widespread minor
flooding of low lying areas with homes isolated by high water..

For the Chippewa River Below Mt Pleasant... the latest stage was 3.8
feet at 11 AM Saturday. The maximum stage forecasted is 7.9 feet
Monday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 8.0 feet.  At 8.0
feet... Expect minor flooding of the Golf Course,
Island Park and Nelson Park in western Mt. Pleasant..
