HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
1203 PM EST MON JAN 16 2017

Water levels are forecast to rise toward bankfull on the following
rivers...

Grand River at Lowell...
Red Cedar River at Williamston and East Lansing...
Flat River at Smyrna...
Kalamazoo River at New Richmond...

.A half inch to possibly one inch of rain is expected Monday into
Tuesday. This water will run off into already swollen rivers and
cause them to rise near and possibly above bankfull this week. The
following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
precipitation.

For the Grand River At Lowell... the latest stage was 8.2 feet at 8
AM Monday. No significant flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 11.7 feet early Sunday morning. Bankfull stage is 10.0
feet. Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

For the Red Cedar River Above Williamston... the latest stage was 5.7
feet at 11 AM Monday. No significant flooding is forecast. The
maximum stage forecasted is 7.4 feet Saturday early afternoon.
Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

For the Red Cedar River At East Lansing... the latest stage was 4.7
feet at 11 AM Monday. No significant flooding is forecast. The
maximum stage forecasted is 6.4 feet Friday evening. Bankfull stage
is 6.0 feet. Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

For the Flat River Near Smyrna... the latest stage was 4.1 feet at 10
AM Monday. No significant flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecasted is 5.5 feet Friday evening. Bankfull stage is 5.5 feet.
Flood stage is 8.5 feet.

For the Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond... the latest stage was
14.4 feet at 11 AM Monday. No significant flooding is forecast. The
maximum stage forecasted is 16.0 feet Thursday evening.  Bankfull
stage is 15.0 feet. Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
