Hydrologic Statement

...Water levels are forecast to have significant rises on the
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Ionia...Sycamore
Creek at Holt...Looking Glass River at Eagle...Maple River at Maple
Rapids...Thornapple River at Hastings...

.Repeating rain showers and thunderstorms through Saturday night may
produce rainfall totals between 2 and 3 inches, with isolated amounts
exceeding 4 inches. Out of bankfull rises are possible at several
river points given this forecast, and if isolated heavier amounts
fall within smaller river drainage basins, minor flood stage cannot
be ruled out. The following forecasts is based on observed and
forecast 48 hour precipitation.

For the Grand River At Ionia... the latest stage was 9.1 feet at 12
PM Saturday. Out of bankfull rises are possible. The maximum stage
forecasted is 16.9 feet early Tuesday morning.  Flood stage is 21.0
feet.

For the Sycamore Creek At Holt... no observed stage was available.
Out of bankfull rises are possible. The maximum stage forecasted is
7.5 feet Sunday morning. Flood stage is 8.0 feet. At 8.0 feet... Expect
minor flooding of low lying areas adjacent to the river, in the
Lansing Municipal Golf Course and sections of East Mt. Hope Road.

For the Looking Glass River Near Eagle... the latest stage was 2.9
feet at 12 PM Saturday. Out of bankfull rises are possible. The
maximum stage forecasted is 6.6 feet Monday morning. Flood stage is
7.0 feet. At 7.0 feet... Expect minor flooding of homes in Dewitt and
along the river between Dewitt and Eagle. Flooding occurs in Riverside
Park in Dewitt and Looking Glass Valley Park in Wacousta.

For the Maple River At Maple Rapids... the latest stage was 2.6 feet
at 12 PM Saturday. Out of bankfull rises are possible. The maximum
stage forecasted is 7.3 feet early Tuesday morning. Flood stage is 9.0
feet. At 7.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor flooding in low
lying pastures, farmland, and wooded areas adjacent to the river.

For the Thornapple River Above Hastings... the latest stage was 3.5
feet at 12 PM Saturday. Out of bankfull rises are possible. The
maximum stage forecasted is 5.9 feet Monday evening. Flood stage is
7.0 feet. At 5.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor flooding of
low lying areas and farmland adjacent to the river.
