The following forecasts are for rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan...
Ice jams are likely occurring on these rivers. Significant flooding
is not expected... but river levels may approach or exceed bankfull
and produce minor impacts in low lying areas. Ice jams can cause
unpredictable fluctuations in river levels.
For the Looking Glass River Near Eagle... the latest stage was 4.5
feet at 11 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast.The maximum stage
forecasted is 4.9 feet Friday morning. Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
For the Flat River Near Smyrna... the latest stage was 4.9 feet at
10 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecasted
is 5.4 feet Friday afternoon. Bankfull stage is 5.5 feet. Flood stage
is 8.5 feet.
For the Pere Marquette River Near Scottville... the latest stage was
3.9 feet at 11 AM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum
stage forecasted is 4.0 feet this evening. Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.
Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
