HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI
1003 PM EST MON JAN 16 2017

...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Lowell...Comstock
Park...Red Cedar at Williamston...East Lansing...Flat River at
Smyrna...Kalamazoo River at New Richmond...Pere Marquette River at
Scottville...

The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
precipitation.

For the Grand River At Lowell... the latest stage was 8.2 feet at 8
AM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage forecasted
is 12.0 feet early Sunday morning.  Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

For the Grand River Near Comstock Park... the latest stage was 9.6
feet at 12 PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage
forecasted is 11.0 feet early Friday morning.  Flood stage is 12.0
feet.  At 11.0 feet... River is bankfull.

For the Red Cedar River Above Williamston... the latest stage was 5.6
feet at 9 PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage
forecasted is 7.4 feet Saturday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 9.0
feet.  At 7.0 feet... River is bankfull. Overflow begins in low lying
areas adjacent to the river.

For the Red Cedar River At East Lansing... the latest stage was 4.6
feet at 9 PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage
forecasted is 6.3 feet Saturday early afternoon.  Flood stage is 7.0
feet.  At 6.0 feet... River reaches bankfull and low lying areas
flood.

For the Flat River Near Smyrna... the latest stage was 4.1 feet at 8
PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum stage forecasted
is 5.8 feet Saturday evening.  Flood stage is 8.5 feet.

For the Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond... the latest stage was
14.3 feet at 9 PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum
stage forecasted is 16.0 feet Thursday evening.  Flood stage is 17.0
feet.  At 17.0 feet... Expect minor flooding of low lying areas and
farmland along the river.  Boardwalk along the river and boat lauch
would be flooded.

For the Pere Marquette River Near Scottville... the latest stage was
3.4 feet at 9 PM Monday.   No flooding is forecast.  The maximum
stage forecasted is 3.6 feet Sunday morning.  Flood stage is 5.5
feet.  At 4.0 feet... River is bankfull. Overflow of low lying areas
adjacent to the river occurs.

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
