HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND RAPIDS MI

...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Ionia...Sycamore
Creek at Holt...Looking Glass River at Eagle...Thornapple River at
Hastings...

.Forecast rainfall totals from a system moving through the region
this weekend will range from a quarter of an inch up to an inch.
Feel these values are a bit high due to the dry air over Michigan.
Will cover with an RVS for now. The following forecast is based on
observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation.

For the Grand River At Ionia... the latest stage was 11.9 feet at 11
AM Saturday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecast
is 14.4 feet Tuesday morning. Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

For the Sycamore Creek At Holt... the latest stage was 4.2 feet at 10
AM Saturday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecast
is 6.5 feet tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 8.0 feet. At 6.0 feet...
Flooding begins in low lying areas along the creek and at the
Lansing Municipal Golf Course and Scott Woods Park.

For the Looking Glass River Near Eagle... the latest stage was 4.0
feet at 11 AM Saturday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 5.4 feet Monday morning. Flood stage is 7.0 feet. At
5.0 feet... River is bankfull.

For the Thornapple River Above Hastings... the latest stage was 4.2
feet at 11 AM Saturday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 5.3 feet Tuesday morning. Flood stage is 7.0 feet. At
5.0 feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor flooding of low lying
areas and farmland adjacent to the river.

Safety message... Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
