THURSDAY...

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TODAY. THE BANDS OF SNOW WILL
   PERSIST THROUGH TONIGHT...BEFORE DIMINISHING EARLY THURSDAY.

 * SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES...WITH SNOW RATES IN EXCESS OF AN
   INCH PER HOUR.

 * WINDS FROM THE NORTHWEST OCCASIONALLY GUSTING TO 30 MPH...
   PRODUCING PERIODS OF NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY TODAY. WINDS ARE
   EXPECTED TO DIMINISH THIS EVENING.

 * THIS WILL BE A PROLONGED SNOW EVENT...THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
   SOME AREAS WILL PICK UP AN ADDITIONAL SIX INCHES OR MORE OF
   SNOW TODAY AND TONIGHT. THIS WILL BRING STORM TOTALS TO 6 TO 12
   INCHES...WITH LOCALIZED HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

IMPACTS...

 * ROADS WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.

 * TRAVEL THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING BE SLOW AND HAZARDOUS. THIS
   INCLUDES PORTIONS OF INTERSTATES 94 AND 196 ALONG WITH ROUTE
   31. AN INCREASED RISK FOR MULTIPLE VEHICLE PILEUPS WILL
   EXIST.

 * ROAD SALT WILL BE LESS EFFECTIVE AS DAYTIME TEMPERATURES ONLY
   REACH THE LOWER 20S. THE COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE OVER THE REGION
   THROUGH THURSDAY.
