Hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter, wind gusts to 60 mph and one or two tornadoes will be possible. The greatest severe weather threat areas will be over Kiowa, Bent and Prowers and northern Baca counties. Heavy wet snow will continue today, especially over Teller and the higher elevations of northern El Paso county. 4 to 8 inches of snow will be possible over parts of northern El Paso county while 10 to locally 30 inches of snow will be possible over Pikes Peak, the Rampart range and Teller county. Heavy wet snow could cause tree damage and power outages. Snow will be possible over the central mountains and the higher elevations of the upper Arkansas River valley. Snow will also be possible over the higher elevations of northwestern Fremont county and the northern Sangre de Cristo mountains where amounts will range from 2 to 8 inches across the lower elevations to around a foot across the higher peaks. Thunderstorms will be possible over the remainder of the region through this afternoon, with lightning and locally heavy rainfall the primary risks. Red Flag conditions will occur over southern Baca county today where dry gusty southwest winds will result in high fire danger. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Snow showers will continue across the mountains on Sunday while the remainder of southern Colorado remains dry and mild. The next chance for showers and thunderstorms with higher elevation snow will arrive late week as a disturbance moves through the region. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
