Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Unsettled weather with a series of frontal systems
crossing the region through the beginning of next week. Multiple
rounds of showers are expected, with the chance of thunderstorms
Sunday and Monday and moderate snow in the Cascades. The pattern
will dry out some mid week, with more showers possible Thursday
and Saturday. Warmer temperatures will also return second half of
this week.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine
terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-
like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are
likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in
these conditions.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
11 AM PDT MONDAY...

.SUNDAY...A chance of showers in the morning, then a slight
chance of thunderstorms early in the afternoon. Rain showers and
snow showers in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce
small hail early in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near
Paradise up to 4 inches. Snow level near 4000 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Showers, snow showers and a slight chance of
thunderstorms in the evening, then showers after midnight. Some
thunderstorms may produce small hail in the evening. Snow may be
heavy at times. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 3 to 8 inches.
Snow level near 3500 feet.
.MONDAY...Showers, snow showers and a slight chance of
thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce small hail. Snow
accumulation near Paradise of 2 to 5 inches. Snow level near
2000 feet.
.MONDAY NIGHT...Showers, snow showers and a slight chance of
thunderstorms in the evening, then showers after midnight. Some
thunderstorms may produce small hail in the evening. Moderate
snow accumulations. Snow level near 2500 feet.
.TUESDAY...Showers in the morning, then showers, snow showers and
a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some
thunderstorms may produce small hail in the afternoon. Light snow
accumulations. Snow level near 3000 feet.
