FEBRUARY 2017 AT NWS GRAND FORKS WAS THE 16TH WARMEST ON RECORD
DATING BACK TO 1893. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 19.9 DEGREES WHICH
IS 6.4F DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL 13.5F. MOST OF THE WARMTH OCCURRED
DURING AN EXTREMELY WARM PERIOD DURING THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH WHICH
CAUSED A DAILY RECORD HIGH AT NWS GRAND FORKS ON THE 19TH WITH 46F
DEGREES.

WITH RESPECT TO PRECIPITATION THE 0.50 INCHES OF FEB 2017 WAS JUST
0.09 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL 0.59 INCHES. AS FOR SNOWFALL, THE 5.2
INCHES MEASURED WAS 1.7 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL 6.9 INCHES.
