...JULY WAS WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL IN OMAHA...

JULY WAS THE 20TH WARMEST ON RECORD, WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF
80.1 THAT WAS 3.4 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. JULY ALSO WAS THE 25TH
DRIEST ON RECORD, WITH JUST 1.23 INCHES OF RAIN.

SOME OF THE MILDEST WEATHER OF THE MONTH WAS IN THE EARLY PART OF
THE MONTH. THE COOLEST LOW TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS RECORDED ON
THE 1ST, AT 60 DEGREES, AND ONE OCCURRENCE OF THE COOLEST HIGH
TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS ON THE 7TH, AT 83 DEGREES. IN FACT, THE
LOWEST HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 83 DEGREES IS THE 6TH WARMEST ON RECORD
FOR JULY. MEASURABLE RAIN FELL IN THUNDERSTORMS ON THE 2ND AND 4TH.

WARMER TEMPERATURES ARRIVED IN EARNEST ON THE 9TH, WITH A STRETCH OF
ABOVE-NORMAL TEMPERATURES LASTING THROUGH THE 23RD. MEASURABLE RAIN
FELL IN THUNDERSTORMS ON FOUR DAYS AND WITHOUT THUNDER ONCE DURING
THAT STRETCH, BUT INDIVIDUAL DAILY AMOUNTS WERE NO HIGHER THAN 0.15
INCHES. AFTER A 4-YEAR HIATUS, THE HIGH TEMPERATURE IN OMAHA FINALLY
TOPPED 100 ON THE 21ST, HITTING A HIGH OF 103.

NEAR- NORMAL TEMPERATURES RETURNED TO END THE MONTH, ALONG WITH OVER
HALF AN INCH OF RAIN IN THUNDERSTORMS ON THE 26TH. THE COOLEST LOW
TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH REPEATED ON THE 24TH, AT 60 DEGREES, AND
THE COOLEST HIGH REPEATED ON THE 26TH AT 83 DEGREES.
