FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Wisconsin...

  Eau Claire River Near Fall Creek affecting Chippewa and Eau Claire
  Counties
  Chippewa River at Durand affecting Buffalo and Pepin Counties

.Overview...Runoff from snowmelt and rainfall on Monday of between one
half and one inch onto frozen ground will continue to produce rising
water levels on the Chippewa & Eau Claire Rivers. The National Weather
Service will continue to monitor this developing situation and issue
followup statements as conditions or forecasts change.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.  Turn Around...Don`t Drown.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your local radio or TV station
for the latest information concerning this flood event.

...Flood Warning continues through Thursday morning for
  the Eau Claire River Near Fall Creek.
* from late tonight to Thursday morning.
* At 7:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 5.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
  rise to near 12.3 feet by tomorrow afternoon. The river will
  fall below flood stage by Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Roads near the river begin to flood.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Some park and agricultural lands become
  inundated.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...River currents become dangerous for
  recreational users.

  the Chippewa River at Durand.
* from late Wednesday night through Tuesday February 28.
* At 10:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 7.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Thursday morning and continue
  to rise to near 15.4 feet by Saturday morning. The river will
  fall below flood stage by next Tuesday.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...The basements of businesses along the river
  begin to flood.
* Impact...At 12.5 feet...River Street in downtown Durand begins to
  flood.
