FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
457 AM CDT FRI AUG 29 2014

.DISCUSSION...
HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA FOR ONE
LAST DAY TODAY AS A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES OFF TO THE NORTHEAST.
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES MAY DROP BELOW 30 PERCENT. HOWEVER,
LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS ARE EXPECTED WHICH SHOULD KEEP CRITICAL FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS AT BAY.

A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL THEN INCREASE CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING TONIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH
THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL ACT TO INCREASE RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND LOWER
MIXING HEIGHTS WITH FAIR DISPERSION ON SATURDAY. DUE TO THE
TRAJECTORY OF THE UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL
BE THE HIGHEST OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA THROUGH SUNDAY. DRIER AND WARM
CONDITIONS WILL THEN RETURN ON MONDAY THROUGH THE REST OF THE
FORECAST WITH LOWER CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION.
