Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
404 AM CDT Sun May 28 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Light to moderate rain will continue over northern Alabama through
sunrise and then being to taper off during the day. Although there
may be additional develop of showers and thunderstorms this
afternoon, confidence is very low and the coverage should remain
isolated. Mixing heights will rise above 2000 ft later this morning,
with heights above 4000 expected this afternoon. Southwest transport
winds will generally be in the 10 to 15 mph range so fair dispersion
conditions are expected today.

Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage later this
evening as a cold front pushes into the region. However, there is
some question as to how much coverage there will be across northern
Alabama. The higher chances will generally be across the southeast
portion of the forecast area. Additional rainfall amounts of up to
1 inch are forecast, with locally heavier amounts possible.

Rain chances will continue through much of the week as the front
stalls across northern Alabama. The higher chances will be during the
afternoon, with storms tapering off after sunset each day. Confidence
is low as to what days the greater chances of thunderstorms will be.
Winds will remain from the southwest through Wednesday and then shift
to the north.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog may develop on
Monday and Tuesday morning, but will be heavily dependent on how
much rainfall a location receives and if winds become light.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None.
