Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
433 PM EST Sun Feb 25 2018

.DISCUSSION...A cold front will stall out near the TN and VA borders
tonight as a wave of low pressure moves along it and an upper level
disturbance crosses the region. This will lead to a threat of showers
late tonight and early on Monday, mainly in counties bordering VA
and TN. Otherwise, high pressure will build across the OH Valley and
Appalachians from late Monday morning into Monday night leading to
drier weather. The high will move east of the area Tuesday and Tuesday
night when a developing low pressure system will approach from the
Plains states. This system will move through the region from late
Tuesday night through late Thursday night bringing another period of
moderate to heavy rain. Rainfall during the period should generally
range from three quarters of an inch to two inches.
