Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
425 AM CDT Tue Oct 17 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Little or no rainfall is expected during the next 7 days.

Very dry air and temperatures around 80 degrees this afternoon
will lower relative humidity to around 10 percent. West and
southwest winds are expected to remain below 25 mph.

Dry air will remain across Western and North Central Nebraska
through Thursday. Moist south winds develop Friday and a strong
cold front will move through Saturday leading to an increase in
minimum afternoon humidity.

Humidity will fall to between 10 and 30 percent today through
Thursday which will cause summer growth to cure. Thus, there is
the potential for significant wild fire development if wind
speeds become strong. At this time winds speeds are expected to
remain below 25 mph until Saturday.
