FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
257 PM PDT WED SEP 2 2015

...GUSTY DRY NORTH WINDS FRIDAY IN NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON...

.DISCUSSION...

THE COLD FRONT WILL BE SLOW TO EXIT THE PALOUSE AND THE CENTRAL
IDAHO PANHANDLE WHICH WILL BRING A GOOD CHANCE OF A WETTING RAIN
TONIGHT. MEANWHILE AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL BE OVER THE INLAND
NORTHWEST FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND. THIS
WILL BRING COOL...SHOWERY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS TO THE REGION. THE
BEST CHANCE FOR SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL
BE NEAR THE CASCADE CREST AND ALONG THE CANADIAN BORDER...WHILE
SPOTTY SHOWERS WITH LITTLE IF ANY MEANINGFUL PRECIPITATION CAN BE
EXPECTED ELSEWHERE. BREEZY SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL DECREASE THIS
EVENING...BUT PICK UP AGAIN FOR THURSDAY. WINDS WILL SWITCH OUT OF
THE NORTH THURSDAY NIGHT AND BECOME GUSTY FRIDAY AND FRIDAY
NIGHT. THESE WINDS WILL FUNNEL DOWN THE OKANOGAN VALLEY INTO THE
WESTERN COLUMBIA BASIN WHILE HUMIDITY VALUES LOWER. TEMPERATURES
WILL REMAIN COOL AND BELOW NORMAL INTO THE WEEKEND. THURSDAY
NIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING LOOKS TO BE THE COLDEST WITH PATCHY
FROST POSSIBLE IN NORTHEAST WASHINGTON AND THE FAR NORTHERN
PANHANDLE. RAIN CHANCES WILL INCREASE ACROSS EXTREME EASTERN
WASHINGTON AND THE IDAHO PANHANDLE SATURDAY AS THE UPPER TROUGH
EJECTS NORTHEASTWARD. ANOTHER SHOT OF SHOWERS IS POSSIBLE LATE
SUNDAY WITH A PASSING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE. OTHERWISE DRIER
AND WARMER WEATHER IS EXPECTED INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.
