Fire Weather Planning Forecast for the Heartland
National Weather Service Paducah KY
329 AM CST Mon Feb 27 2017

.DISCUSSION..
With increasing rain chances now through early Wednesday
across the Heartland, short term fuels will becoming
increasingly saturated, mitigating effective burning through
the middle of the week.

After a cold front moves through the area Wednesday morning,
high pressure will dominate the region through the middle of
next weekend.

Minimum daytime relative humidity values will fall into the
25 to 30 percent range Thursday through Saturday through most
of the Heartland. Across Southeast Missouri, relative humidity
values could dip down into the 20 to 30 percent range as early
as late Wednesday and extend into Saturday.

This extended period of dry weather should help dry short term,
ten hour fuels, as well as some 100 hour fuel loads.

Winds, both surface and 20 foot levels, should remain relatively
light from Thursday through early morning on Saturday. Some gusty
winds will be possible during the afternoon on Saturday into Sunday,
as another system moves into the area early next week. This will
bring the next chance for rain to the Heartland.
