FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
850 AM PDT SUN SEP 21 2014

...INCREASING ONSHORE FLOW NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...
...WETTING RAIN LIKELY MID TO LATE IN THE WEEK...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...INCREASING ONSHORE FLOW TODAY WILL BE THE
START OF A COOLING TREND. A VERY WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS
THE AREA MONDAY...FURTHER DEEPENING THE MARINE LAYER. BEYOND
MONDAY...A SERIES OF MUCH STRONGER SYSTEMS WILL BRING MUCH-NEEDED
WETTING RAIN TO THE AREA DURING THE MIDDLE TO LATTER PART OF THE
WEEK.

.DISCUSSION...THE SURFACE THERMAL TROUGH WILL SLIP EAST OF THE
CASCADES TODAY AS A SOUTHWEST MARINE SURGE WORKS ITS WAY INLAND. IT
WILL BE SEVERAL DEGREES COOLER TODAY...ESPECIALLY FROM THE WESTERN
INTERIOR VALLEYS TO THE COAST. THE MARINE LAYER DEEPENS MONDAY AS A
WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM APPROACHES THE COAST. A SERIES OF STRONGER
SYSTEMS WILL IMPACT THE FORECAST AREA WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE END OF
THE WEEK. THESE WILL BRING MUCH-NEED WETTING RAINS TO REGION.
