Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
215 PM PDT Thu Apr 27 2017

...WARMER AND DRIER FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...High pressure begins to spread into the
area tonight and Friday, which will mark the start of a brief
warming and drying trend. The upper ridge moves over the area
Saturday, followed by another weak front Saturday night. Warmer and
drier weather returns for the middle and latter half of next week.

.DISCUSSION...High pressure well offshore starts to shift toward the
coast Friday, for the start of a brief drying trend. The ridge moves
inland Saturday, which will allow slightly above-normal daytime
temperatures. However, the ridge will be short-lived as models agree
another frontal system moves through the area Saturday night and
Sunday morning. Moderate onshore low-level flow accompanies the
front for breezy to windy conditions in the Central Columbia River
Gorge. Slightly below-normal daytime temperatures can be expected
the first part of next week with continued onshore flow. However,
longer range models show a return to warmer and drier conditions
around the middle of next week, possibly resulting in the warmest
temperatures of 2017.
