...THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS NEAR THE DRY TORTUGAS...

A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS STRETCHES FROM 30 MILES NORTH OF PULASKI
SHOAL LIGHT...TO APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF FORT
JEFFERSON AT THE DRY TORTUGAS. WHILE THESE STORMS ARE NEARLY
STATIONARY....NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR HAS INDICATED
GUSTY WINDS TO 30 KNOTS...AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING IN AND AROUND THIS
ACTIVITY.

THROUGH 10 PM...THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO GENERALLY DRIFT TOWARDS
THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AT AROUND 5 KNOTS. MARINERS IN THE VICINITY OF
THESE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD PREPARE WINDS AROUND 30 KNOTS...LOCALLY
ROUGH SEAS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND BLINDING DOWNPOURS WITH REDUCED
VISIBILITY TO ONE QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

THUNDERSTORMS POSE A VARIETY OF THREATS TO BOATER SAFETY FROM BOTH
GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING. YOUR BEST COURSE OF ACTION DURING
THUNDERSTORMS IS TO SEEK SAFE HARBOR...BUT IF YOU ARE CAUGHT ON THE
OPEN WATER...STAY BELOW DECK...IF POSSIBLE...AND AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED
