...VERY STRONG WINDS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE BIG ISLAND SUMMITS
THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

.A strong upper level low approaching from the north, will stall
several hundred miles north of the State this weekend. This will
result in very strong winds over the Big Island summits through
late Sunday. Winds are expected to slowly trend down Sunday night
and Monday, but they will likely remain at advisory levels.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST SUNDAY...

* WINDS...West 45 to 65 mph with gusts up to 85 mph at times.

* TIMING...Through Sunday.

* IMPACTS...These winds can make hiking or travel to the summits
  very dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means that winds at the summits are expected
to be at least 56 mph, with gusts over 66 mph. Take necessary
precautions to protect property. Travel to summit areas should be
delayed until winds subside.
