Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
The next cold front will move across the area tonight through
Wednesday. Southwest winds ahead of the front will turn to the
north and increase behind the front. Another large northwest swell
will affect the area beginning tonight and continuing through
Thursday.

5 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 10 ft.
.TONIGHT...Front over NW waters. N of front, NW to N winds
15 to 25 kt. S of front and N of 18N, S to SW winds 10 to 20 kt.
S of 18N, E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 10 ft, except
building to 10 to 15 ft far N waters after midnight.
.TUESDAY...Front over central waters. N of front, NW to N winds
15 to 25 kt. S of front, SW winds 5 to 15 kt, becoming variable 10
kt or less in the afternoon. Seas building to 12 to 21 ft NW
half, seas 6 to 10 ft SE half.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Front moving into SE waters. N of front, NW to N
winds 15 to 25 kt. S of front, variable winds 10 kt or less. Seas
12 to 20 ft, except 6 to 10 ft far SE waters.
.WEDNESDAY...Front over SE waters. N of front, N to NE winds 15 to
25 kt. S of front, NE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 10 to 17 ft.
