Rangeland Fire Danger Statement

.DISCUSSION...Cool, moist, and breezy conditions can be expected
across northwest South Dakota behind an advancing cold front. A
shower cannot be ruled out this morning. Warm and dry weather is
expected across south central through southwest South Dakota. High
temperatures will range from around 55 northwest SD to around 80
in south central SD. The minimum relative humidity will range from
around 60 percent in northwest SD to around 30 percent in
southwest SD. Northerly winds of 10 to 20 MPH, with gusts to 30
mph can be expected.

Cool, moist, and unsettled weather can be expected this weekend,
with a good chance for rain.

...High Fire Danger...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this
afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions or a low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that there is a moderate to high potential for a fire
occurrence. Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning
or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the
relative humidity is higher.

The outlook for Saturday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.

the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
occurrence. Do not leave outdoor fires unattended under these
